From Classrooms to Kitchen
We are a nonprofit initiative founded by two passionate high school students who wanted to make a difference in the lives of underprivileged children. What began as a small effort to teach English to children from disadvantaged backgrounds has grown into a heartfelt movement powered by compassion, volunteerism, and community support.
During one of these teaching sessions, a volunteer discovered a heartbreaking reality: many of the children were coming to class without having eaten a proper meal, and some went an entire day without food. This realization inspired the team to take action.
The Meal Program
THEFRIENDINNEED.org launched a simple yet life-changing meal program to provide nutritious food to children in need. Currently, the program feeds 15 children, ensuring they receive at least one complete meal a day. While modest in scale, the impact has been profound—offering not just nourishment, but also dignity, hope, and the ability for children to focus on learning without the burden of hunger.

Candle-Making for a Cause
To sustain and grow this meal program, volunteers came up with a creative fundraising idea: making and selling candles. Each candle is carefully crafted from 100% organic beeswax, symbolizing purity, warmth, and light. By purchasing these candles, supporters not only bring a natural, eco-friendly product into their homes but also contribute directly to feeding children and supporting their education.
Our Vision
We believe that no child should have to choose between learning and surviving. Education and nutrition go hand in hand, and our mission is to ensure that children everywhere have access to both.
With every candle sold, every volunteer hour contributed, and every donation received, we move closer to creating a world where underprivileged children can thrive, learn, and dream without hunger holding them back.
