My Story

It all began one quiet Sunday Morning when I logged onto a zoom meeting with a group of kids in India, attempting to find education with their limited resources. My conversations with them quickly turned my curiosity and apprehension into commitment and support. Our virtual interactions became increasingly regular and we formed close bonds.

I had always believed in the power of education, but witnessing the tenacity of these children, thousands of miles away, made me realize the enormous potential of technology to bridge educational gaps. With each session, I saw resilience in the eyes of children who had faced countless adversities, and yet, there they were, diligently noting down every word I spoke, asking questions, and most importantly, dreaming of a brighter future. Their zeal to learn was insatiable, and my belief that every child, irrespective of their circumstances, deserved quality education became unshakeable.

The realization soon dawned upon me that while I was just one individual, there were countless high school students across the world with a passion for service and a wealth of knowledge. Why not connect these dots and create a network of support, understanding, and learning?

And that brought me to The Friend in Need. A nonprofit with the mission to connect students globally with underprivileged learners, breaking the barriers of geography and economy.

Today, I still teach that same group of kids in Pyradanaga, India and I’m interested in taking on more learners. If you’re interested in tutoring in Math or the sciences, feel free to reach out to me.
